The BTR HEMI Range

Brian Tooley Racing's Gen III HEMI program covers both the 5.7L Eagle and 6.4L SRT/392 platforms. Per BTR, every grind is engineered around the HEMI's variable valve timing system — VVT control and proper engine tuning are essential to extracting the stated gains, and a BTR aftermarket spring kit is required on every cam due to high valve lift and increased RPM in combination with the heavy OEM valves. Hardened pushrods are recommended in power adder applications.

5.7L VVT Camshafts

The 5.7 VVT Stage 1 cam is BTR's entry-level performance grind. Per BTR: 212/22X duration, .587"/.584" lift, 112 LSA. BTR states 480+ HP at the crank with an additional 1000 RPM of usable operating range, and notes the Stage 1 works well with factory torque converters. Ships with the 8° VVT Limiter (BTR-VVT-HEMI-8CAM) included.

The 5.7 VVT Stage 2 steps up to 216/23X duration, .587"/.586" lift, 112 LSA. BTR states 490+ HP at the crank with a peak gain of 71 HP and 62 lb/ft at 6000 RPM. BTR positions the Stage 2 as a popular choice for builders looking to delete MDS while adding noticeable street performance.

The 5.7 VVT Truck Norris is specced at 212/23X duration, .587"/.586" lift, 109.5 LSA. BTR states approaching 490 HP at the crank, with a mild-mannered daily feel and aggressive sound. Per BTR, the Truck Norris works well with factory torque converters — making it a strong choice for street and tow builds where converter swaps aren't on the table.

6.4L VVT Camshafts

The 6.4 VVT 224 is specced at 224/24X duration, .611"/.609" lift, 111.5 LSA. Per BTR's dyno data: gains starting at 2200 RPM, peak gain of 50 HP at 6600 RPM and 40 lb/ft at 6400 RPM, pulling strong to 6800 RPM. BTR rates this grind stock converter friendly and states 570+ HP at the crank.

The 6.4 VVT 228 is specced at 228/24X duration, .611"/.609" lift, 111 LSA. Per BTR's dyno data: gains starting at 2400 RPM, peak gain of 50+ HP at 6500 RPM and 46 lb/ft at 6400 RPM, pulling strong to 7000 RPM. BTR states 580+ HP at the crank and notes that an aftermarket torque converter is required for best performance.

Both 6.4 cams ship with the 4° VVT Limiter (BTR-VVT-HEMI-4CAM) included in the box. The installation tool (BTR-VVT-Hemi-Tool) is sold separately if you don't already have one.

Valve Spring Kits

SK017 — BTR Gen III HEMI 09-up VVT .650" lift spring kit. The standard pairing for 5.7 VVT cams.

SK024 — BTR 6.2/6.4 Gen III HEMI .650" lift spring kit. Designed for the 6.4L valvetrain geometry.

SP021 — BTR drop-in valve springs for 2009+ 5.7 HEMI, like 68277306AA, .625" lift, 16-piece kit. The OEM-replacement option for mild builds.

Supporting spring hardware: A201HP Valve Spring Shim Set (.060" thick), SLH815075BH-16 Gen III HEMI Valve Spring Locators (.815" ID, .075" thick), VSHEM3V-16 2009+ Gen III HEMI Valve Seal Kit, and the BTRHM-HEMI Valve Spring Height Mic for accurate install heights.

Pushrods

BTR HEMI Chromoly Pushrods in 11/32" diameter, set of 8. Three application-specific lengths in stock:

  • 6.775" (BTR-PR6775343-1) — short-length application
  • 6.800" (BTR-PR6800312-8) — standard 5.7 / 6.4 application
  • 8.075" (BTR-PR8075343-1) — long-length application

BTR recommends hardened pushrods in any power-adder application — boosted, supercharged, or nitrous.

VVT Phaser Tools & Limiters

The BTR Gen III HEMI VVT Phaser Tool (BTR-VVTHEMITOOL) is required to install the VVT limiter into the cam phaser — either purchased separately or bundled as the BTR-VVTHEMITOOL-VVT-HEMI combo with the 8° limiter included.

The 8° VVT Phaser Limiter (BTR-VVT-HEMI-8CAM) is what ships with the Stage 1 cam; the 4° version ships with Stage 2, Truck Norris, and the 6.4 cams.

The BTR Gen III HEMI Valve Spring Compressor Tool (BTR-HEMISPRINGTOOL) is the dedicated tool for swapping HEMI valve springs in-vehicle.

Hardware & Service Parts

OEM Mopar VVT Camshaft Bolt (06102430AA) — single-use bolt that must be replaced on every cam swap per Mopar service procedure. OEM Mopar Crank Bolt (06510763AA) — paired replacement at the same service interval. MAHLE Gen III HEMI 5.7 2009+ Head Gasket Service Set (MAH-HS54418B) — the head gasket kit for full top-end refresh during a cam install.

Truck Cam & MDS Conversion Kit

The RAMTRUCKCAMKIT is BTR's complete drop-in package for 2009+ 5.7 VVT RAM trucks — includes the cam, MDS delete components, and supporting hardware. The single-SKU answer for builders converting an MDS-equipped 5.7 RAM to a non-MDS performance setup.

Workshop-backed Fitment & Tuning

IMS is a working performance workshop, not a freight reseller. We fit, dyno-tune, and validate BTR HEMI setups in Australia — Charger and Challenger street builds, RAM truck builds, 300 SRT and Grand Cherokee performance work, US-spec imports. Buying through IMS gets you Australian stock, local warranty, accurate fitment advice from technicians who actually install the parts, and tuning support if you want it.

Per BTR, every HEMI cam install requires proper VVT control and engine tuning to extract the stated gains. We have the calibration tools and tuning experience to deliver that on the dyno.
