Holden LS1 LS2 LS3 VT-VZ - Drag Comp Oil Sump Pan - ASR

Drag spec rear pickup. G-force gated. Zero oil surge.

Stop sucking air on the launch.

Nothing kills an LS engine faster than oil starvation during a hard launch. If you’re running a high-power VT-VZ at the strip, the factory front-sump design is a liability. Under heavy G-force, your oil sloshes to the back of the pan, leaving the pickup bone dry and your bearings toast.

The ASR Drag Comp Pan (D/C) is built specifically to fix this. It’s the ultimate oiling solution for high-power, low ET drag cars where constant oil pressure is non-negotiable.

The Fix

ASR has re-engineered the internals with the drag strip in mind. By positioning the pickup towards the rear and utilizing a sophisticated system of one-way trapdoor gates and directional baffles, the oil is locked around the pickup point. No matter how hard you leave the line, the G-force works with the pan to ensure your engine never runs dry.

Technical Specs & Features

  • Application: Specifically designed for Holden Commodore VT, VX, VY, and VZ models fitted with LS-series engines (LS1, LS2, LS3, L98, L77, etc.).
  • Rear-Bias Pickup: Moves the suction point to the rear to maintain prime during peak acceleration.
  • G-Force Internals: Directional baffles and one-way gates control oil movement and prevent surge.
  • High Power/Low ET Optimized: The best option for serious competitive drag racing where engine reliability is paramount.
  • Australian Made: Fabricated by ASR (Australian Specialty Racecraft) for local conditions and high-performance requirements.

Why ASR?

Standard pans are fine for the shops, but once you start chasing numbers, you need a pan that understands physics. The D/C series ensures that the accelerating force works for you, not against your oil pressure. Built for the strip, not the street.

Execution & Trade-offs

  • Clearance: This is a race-spec component. Check your front crossmember and steering rack clearances if you've running aftermarket mounts or modified racks.
  • Maintenance: Gated sumps need clean oil. Any metal debris or heavy sludge can foul the trapdoor hinges. If you've had a mechanical failure, this pan needs a clinical clean before reuse.
  • Asymmetric Insight: Most "performance" pans just add volume. Capacity means nothing if the oil isn't at the pickup. The ASR D/C pan uses the car's inertia to trap oil where it's needed, providing a safety margin that high-volume street pans can't match.
