XSPSI is back from retirement

I have decided that it is time to go racing again & have pulled the gemini out of retirement! I have just finished installing the engine back in the car yesterday. The last time the car was out its best time was an 8.70 @ 161mph. We did this with the old combo which was a bridgeport/peripheal port 13B Rotary, with a GT42 1000hp turbocharger using methanol as our choice of fuel. The car is a untubbed gemini & it runs a 26x8.5x15 MT Slicks. Our gearbox of choice is the ever popular pro-stock gearbox which is a Liberty Equaliser Clutchless Air Shifted Box. If you want to go fast this is the ultimate gearbox, it cost me $8500 & that was second hand. We purchased the liberty in 2007 & it was the best decision that we have ever made with the race car.
Now we have decided to change the combo and go back to a 13B Bridgeport - which is a much tamer engine & will produce alot more low down power. This should hopefully get our 60 foot times back, as the previous engine was quite lazy out of the hole & the 60 foot times were 1.8.
We have now changed the turbocharger to a massive 1600hp turbo and building a much more simplified manifold.
Will keep you all posted as we progress. The car will be ready for our Open Day on 3rd October and also at the Hazelwood Car & Bike Show on 25th October. Once the shows are all over and done with we will be heading up to Sydney to try and have a crack at getting in to the low 8's.

This was the old combo

New Twin 3" Exhaust System for Holden VE

We have recently become suppliers for HM Headers and currently have the new Twin 3" Holden VE Exhaust System on display at Independent Motorsports.
We fitted the new exhaust system on a VE GTS 6.3lt yesterday and were very impressed on how it all easily fitted together and how good the system looked.
Now, power figure talk! The stock standard VE GTS was 232.5kw and after fitting the HM Header exhaust system it gained another 15kw.
Our overall rating of the VE exhaust was 10/10 and it has to be one of the best exhausts I have heard on a VE to date.

4WD Dyno has arrived at Independent Motorsports.....

Our 4WD Dyno finally arrived Tuesday last week - not without a hiccup though.
The truck delivering the dyno got bogged on the way down to our workshop causing a slight delay with the ETA!!
But in saying the above the dyno did arrive at our workshop safely & has been all set-up.
We have tuned a variety of 2wd & 4wd cars since the arrival of our dyno on Tuesday, and we must admit we are quite happy with our new machine!

VE 6lt with HTV2300 Supercharger Kit

We recently installed a HTV2300 Supercharger Kit with a Gilmour Rear Drive on to a VE 6lt Ute.
The car prior to the supercharger kit being installed was making 281kw with a cam only package and afterwards with the HTV 2.3lt Kit was making 390kw on 10psi & with a factory fuel pump - which mind you was maxed out. The car was an absolute freak!!
We also fitted Harrop 368mm rotors & 4 piston calipers to the front and rear, an extreme custom clutch supplied by Race Brakes, TEIN super sport coil over's front and rear & super roo nolathane bushes to the rear subframe to eliminate axel tramp.
The driveability of the car was awesome.
Our final touches were completed last week, we installed a Harrop/VCM twin pump fuel tank and finalised the tune making an impressive 430.1kw @ 12.8psi.
